About the Author

It was senior year of high school, when my girlfriend at the time had an assignment for her creative writing class. She had to write a story. Simple. She just didn't want to do it. I offered. That's what boyfriends do, right? I wrote a mystery. Seventeen pages, handwritten on looseleaf, and she got an "A" for it. I haven't looked back since.

I've always been drawn to storytelling. Movies. Television. Books. Short stories. If there was a story, I was intrigued, but I had never written anything out until I was in my late teens. It was freshman year of college when I started writing shorts and sketch comedy shows with my friends. We all worked at the local movie theater. We all loved movies. So why not make our own?

I continued to develop short films and comedy sketches while moving up in the ranks of the movie theater company, ultimately taking a management position. College Student by day, Filmmaker by night and Movie Theater Manager throughout.

I graduated with my degree in Communications and pursued a career as a filmmaker. This was in the early 90s and since then I've written and directed several short films, one feature and two web series shows. I've written numerous un-produced scripts of different lengths and genres and even self-published a novel.

I've inhabited the world of independent film for the last twenty years. I've dealt with varying degrees of the business. Some good, some bad, but all valuable. One of my favorite aspects of the indie film world is the number of passionate people you meet who share the same love of the craft as I do. I could stay up all night talking about moments in movies or my favorite characters in cinema. There's a connection with other storytellers that's hard to describe to others.

Plus, I get to tell stories!
